About Megan

"Hey ya'll! I'm Megan, a southern girl with a big mouth! I started blogging back in 2004, but then my entries were mostly filled with teen drama, a brief bout with poetry, and falling in love with the guy I would later marry. Now, six years later, I am happily married, living in Alaska, and enjoying life with our little boy! In-between changing diapers, dealing with life in the military, and running a part-time photography business, I do manage to post now and then. Of course, "now and then" can sometimes mean three and four times a day if I feel especially "chatty." I love to laugh, try out new recipes, go hiking and camping, study new photography techniques, and play with my husband and son. Our life has been filled with challenges and changes over the past few years, and having a newborn is just another season of life. But I'm loving every minute of it! A Southern Belle in an Alaskan igloo... me, hubby, and baby makes three!"

The Eclectic Closet Luggage Tags Review and Giveaway

Do you know what the most popular color for luggage is?

I'll give you one guess...

That's right: black.

Have you ever stood at the airport baggage claim and watch one black suitcase after another pass you by, afraid to actually grab one because they all look the same?

Well, fear no more! The Eclectic Closet has come to the rescue!

The Eclectic Closet features the creations of Marilyn, a lovely lady from Ontario, who makes table runners, wedding garters, baby bibs, but most importantly, luggage tags! She was kind enough to send me four luggage tags to test out during out trip down to TN.

Oh.... that made it easy.

Now, thankfully, our luggage isn't black so we don't run into the duplicate suitcase issue very much but we DO run into is having to fill out those annoying paper tags from the airlines each and every time we fly! And since we're in Alaska, we usually fly Alaska Airlines down to Chicago, and then use another airline from Chicago to Nashville. That means switching carriers, and therefore, switching tags. Again.

Did I mention how much I hate filling out the same information over and over and over and over and over again.

The Eclectic Closet to the rescue!

Now, with Marilyn's luggage tags, I can breeze through the ticket counter, stroll through airport security, relax at the gate, rest on the plan, and retrieve my luggage with my sanity and dignity intact.

(After all, we all know how embarrassing it is to grab someone else's suitcase and start walking off with it! "I wasn't stealing it... I promise!")

Marilyn was wonderful to work with as she emailed me back and forth, evening sending "preview pictures" so she could make sure that I was receiving products that I not only liked, but loved.

Aren't the tags adorable? This paisley print is my favorite, I do believe!

Turn it around, and volia! The spot to hold all your valuable contact information!

One time I didn't fill out the contact information on the tag and my luggage was late arriving, but I thought it had gotten lost and was in a major panic attack. Note to self- always fill out the luggage tag. Or, fill it out once and be done with it! I like the latter...

Once I put the red leaf print against my red suitcase, my heart began to beat out of my chest. I love it!

The reds really compliment each other and make themselves *pop* don't you think? Marilyn has tons of fabrics and just about any print imaginable!

Marilyn's work is very detailed, you can tell that she puts a lot of time and effort into each creation.

Each tag already comes with a contact information card made out of stiff cardstock for durability, none of this flimsy stuff they give you at the ticket counter that literally falls apart by the time you arrive at your destination.

All in all, I LOVE the luggage tags and am excited to travel with them again in the future.

Want some luggage tags for your next big trip? The Eclectic Closet is giving away a set (2) of luggage tags to one lucky winner! You'll win the above set of patriotic-themed luggage tags (don't you just love how she paired together the two tags? They look pretty good against the red, too, don't you think?).
